Tell us about yourself:
Originally from North Carolina, I moved to "Music City" five years ago, and am now a Nashville-based singer/songwriter. I am a songwriter first and foremost, and am passionate about writing songs with and for up-and-coming country artists in town. My song credits have earned a nomination for a 2020 NSAI Member Award and a finalist spot in the 2020 Chris Austin Songwriting Competition. My most recent success has come with writing "Just About Over You" with Priscilla Block, which reached #1 on iTunes across all genres on the day of its release. Since then, it has been featured on Billboard, Rolling Stone, the Bobby Bones Show, and Sirius XM The Highway. It was the #1 most added song to radio the week of its release, and is currently climbing the Billboard Country charts.

Why are you a songwriter?
I am a songwriter because I love to create something out of nothing. I love to tell stories. I love to make music. I love to make people feel something. Songwriting is the one thing that I've felt passionate about and good at it since I was a teenager. I tried to pursue other careers, but ultimately realized that being a songwriter was what I was meant to do. It has been the most fulfilling dream to chase.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am most proud of writing a song that is now being played on country radio. That has been a dream of mine for years, and it is finally coming true. I wrote that song with my friends Priscilla Block and Emily Kroll over FaceTime when we were all quarantining, in typical 2020 fashion. It has since gone #1 on iTunes, was the #1 most added song to country radio the week of its release, and has debuted on the Billboard charts for country radio airplay. That song is changing my life, and I am so proud to be a part of it - partly because of the commercial success (because that's always been the dream), but mostly because it is a song that came from such a genuine, real place in the artist's life. I am proud to have been able to help her write her story and share that with people who can relate on such a personal level.
Share the most interesting writing experience you ever had:
The most interesting writing experience I've ever had was when I was granted an artist residency at Brush Creek Ranch out in Wyoming. I got to spend a whole month on a 30,000 acre ranch with my own private writing studio (which was an old school house with a desk and a grand piano). I spent every morning hiking around the ranch getting inspired, and every afternoon writing in my studio. It was the best experience of my life.
What makes you unique as a songwriter?
I love to help mold a vision. I am good at filling in the blanks and helping artists say what they want to say in a way that feels genuine to them.
If you could write with anyone (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
Taylor Swift. She is the reason I started taking songwriting seriously, and the reason I moved to Nashville.
