Tell us about yourself:
My name is Griffith Frank and I am a Los Angeles based songwriter. Some of my credits include Boomerang by Jojo Siwa, Two Sides by Annie Leblanc, and Who Me by Sissy Sheridan. Songs I've written on have been streamed close to a billion times world wide, and I also write and release music myself as an artist.
Name of your most recent release:
You'll Be There (coming out on November 18, 2020)
Why are you a songwriter?
I've always been a musician and a singer, but when I went through my first heartbreak, something in me awoke that pushed me to start writing songs. The pain I felt was so intense, that I had no other way to express what I was going through fully. Also, every song I had ever listened to suddenly made a lot more sense!
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I'd have to say that every time I write a song I am truly satisfied with, it gives me a feeling of pride that not much else can match. There are other certain material accomplishments, but honestly, that feeling takes the cake for being something I consider an achievement for myself.
Share the most interesting writing experience you ever had:
Every time I've gotten the chance to dig deep into the emotions of the song with the various songwriters or artists I've written with, it's always an amazing learning and growing experience for me. Every person is like a puzzle, and I find it very enjoyable to work from their perspective to help tell their story.
What makes you unique as a songwriter?
I'm not sure how to answer that question... I'd probably say my personal experiences and the fact that I listened to so many classic books on tape growing up. Listening to greek mythology and old British stories like Chronicles of Narnia and different versions of Robin Hood really helped to expand my vocabulary.
If you could write with anyone (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
I would write with Sting or Annie Lennox. They are my songwriting idols!
How can the Serious Songwriter community help you?
I always love to expand my network and meet new songwriters I might vibe with! My experience with Songathon was already so fun. Hope I can do it again sometime.
What can you help the Serious Songwriter community with?
Perhaps offering some perspective and advice as a professional songwriter to songwriters who are just starting out or experienced/professional songwriters who want to compare notes.
