Tell us about yourself:
Wazup/Hey I'm Gregory Dillon, your fave queer-pop artist from NYC. I'm all about pop euphoria mixed with nostalgia and a dose of ill-advised decisions.
Name of your most recent release:
Why are you a songwriter?
I was primed for music during my suburban boyhood. I was always secretly following aerobic workout tapes in my basement and skidding asfalt alone on my green Razor scooter. In an attempt to find confidence in adulthood, I moved to Brooklyn where I began constructing a pop fantasy that re-explores the confusing landscape that shaped my youth.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I once ate 12 scrambled eggs and got the nickname "12 Egg Greg." I've also never lost an underwater handstand contest. Try me.
Share the most interesting writing experience you ever had:
One of my upcoming house/dance tracks was written in a tiny studio with a newborn baby, an overly protective pitbull, and four swedish pop stars (yes the baby and the dog are getting a writing credit).
What makes you unique as a songwriter?
I've always let my wild-silliness be apart of the writing process. I think that always helps get me to a unique angle when approaching a song. That and my ability to snack during an entire session without a hint of feeling full lol (I love snacks)
If you could write with anyone (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
If you can get me in a room with Tiesto, Enya, and some pokemon we are going to come out with the next Holy Grail of Dance Music. lol Reader may not think I'm being serious but I am. :P
How can the Serious Songwriter community help you?
I love connecting to my fellow community of writers and think there is a lot more tracks to be written, esp during this new quarantine life.
What can you help the Serious Songwriter community with?
Good Vibes and Advocacy <3
Fun fact about you:
I recently bought my first Barbie Doll (a Ken Doll nonetheless)
