What is Songathon?

Songathon is an action-packed, 24-hour competition for songwriters. At Songathon you will have 24-hours to write the best song you can with your collaborators while getting feedback from industry mentors!

Who is Songathon for? Can I apply if I’m signed to a publisher/label?

Participation in Songathon is through application only. We invite all serious songwriters to apply. Attendance is competitive and on a rolling basis. There are limited spots available so be sure to apply as soon as possible!

And yes, you are eligible to participate if you are signed to a publisher/label. We have had a number of past participants attend who are signed to major publishing companies.

How much does Songathon cost?

If you are accepted to attend Songathon, there is NO participation fee. Attendance is being covered with support of the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment.

What can I win at Songathon?

How do I apply?

Do I have to be U.S. based to participate?

Anyone is welcome to participate at Songathon! As long as you are able to attend the weekend, you are welcome to join from anywhere.

Where is the event?

This event is in Manhattan, New York City. The location will be revealed to those accepted.

Does Songathon take place overnight?

Songathon takes place over two, 12-hour days. 9:30 am-9pm EST on Saturday, 9:30 am-9pm on Sunday EST.
